Pros: I hate doing aerobics and I'm not into health clubs, but when it's cold outside, I have to compromise, so when I saw this DVD on an infomercial, I gave it a shot. I love to dance and I love hip hop. From another site, I checked out how the actual dance aerobics were and enjoyed that enough to buy this (it's a little too expensive though).

Fat Burning Cardio: Shaun T doesn't go so fast that you can't keep up, but just enough to keep you energized. Plus, the man is extra funny, especially when "Don't Cha" by the Pussycat Dolls comes on. There are those who can count steps and there are those who can really dance, and from his body movement, I'm convinced he can really work the floor. This is by far the most fun I've ever had when doing aerobics and I plan to go through the whole 4-week plan, especially since Chicago weather is crazy anyway so I know I can't jog everyday like I want to. Didn't know he was an Alpha Phi Alpha until I looked at one of his sites, so that explains the frat hop dance he does, and that is my favorite part of the "Fat Burner" DVD.

Ab Sculpting: The abs are the most difficult part to gain muscle in but his workouts automatically make me feel the burn (yes, I know, very cliche to say). But surprisingly, it's my legs that are getting the most workout just from the dancing involved.

Total Body Burn: That workout was hard. I'm sure it'll get easier with time, but for the most part, I wanted it be over. On the other hand, I loved the music the most on this one, especially Lumidee, as well as the dances that resembled tribal techniques. The second time around, however, this workout wasn't so bad. Still worked up a sweat (and I'm not a sweater so that was surprising) but not as surprisingly hard as the first time around.

Secrets to Flat Abs: Since I'd done the work-outs already, this stuff was kind of like studying for a test after you've already taken it and the scantrons are collected. But if I'd done this first, it would've been useful.

Five Minute Workout: Speaking of exercises that'll kill you, that one had me so worn out that I sat on my floor for about ten minutes and didn't even realize I'd fallen asleep. It's such a quick but fierce workout. You feel like you worked out that 22-25 minutes from the intensity of it.

Teach You How to Dance: I got a little lost with that one because he was getting excited with his choreography and some of the moves were a little old school and slightly drag queen, but it will be enjoyable for people who don't really know how to dance.

Cons: Although he does hip hop dance, I have yet to hear a real hip hop song. This is more like dance/pop music, but it's all good since I like a lot of that too and the language won't get BeachBody in trouble.

Last year HBO released the complete series of this ground-breaking show with the very high pricetag we've come to expect from any HBO original series on DVD. According to the press release, a year later, HBO wants to make this collection more available to consumers with new compact packaging and a lower price point. I continue from the press release:

The new package is still book style, but of a vastly different sort - it opens up from a split down the center in a gatefold fashion, and discs slide in from the side. Speaking of discs, HBO informs us that all of the DVDs from the previous Complete Series set will be included, with all the bonus material found on them. However, the extra soundtrack CD discs will not be packed in with the revised collection. Still, the new list price is a hundred dollars lower, which certainly good news for any fans who perhaps couldn't afford last year's model.

End of press release. The bottom line on this is we are paying one hundred dollars less to give up 2 music CDs and in exchange get packaging that should not enable so many scratched discs. The extra features include an interview with series creator David Chase conducted by Alec Baldwin and two "Supper With the Sopranos" featurettes that will show cast members sitting down for dinner to discuss their favorite episodes.

As for the series itself, if the Godfather saga was the view of the mafia from the executive suite, this series is a complex tale of the mafia from the working man's point of view. If you've never watched this show, you're in for an extended treat. Yes, there is violence and nudity, but it is never gratuitous and is needed to contrast Tony Soprano, the thinking man's gangster, with the reality of the life he has been born to and, quite frankly, would not ever have left even knowing how so many of his associates have ended up. Tony Soprano can discuss Sun Tzu with his therapist, then beat a man to death with a frying pan in a fit of rage, and while dismembering and disposing of the body with his nephew, take a break, sit down and watch TV while eating peanut butter out of the jar, and give that nephew advice on his upcoming marriage like they had just finished a Sunday afternoon of viewing NFL football. Even Carmella, his wife, when given a chance for a way out, finds that she really prefers life with Tony and the perks that go with it and looking the other way at his indiscretions versus life on her own. If you followed the whole thing, you know how it ends. If you didn't, trust me you've never seen a TV show end like this.

I'm a 31 year old avid reader. I loved Harry Potter, Twilight, Mortal Instruments, and Hunger Games all which became movies. Movies never live up to the novels, yet usually I still enjoy seeing how the books are adapted even if the acting is poor or some of my favorite parts have to be cut. Seeing the rating of this movie almost kept me from renting it, but then I read the reviews. Almost all of the bad reviews were people who were disappointed it didn't keep with the original story line. Well I never read the book, so I didn't know what I was missing. I was captivated beginning to end. Yes, I did notice a bad southern accent at the beginning, which I probably wouldn't have noticed if another review hadn't pointed that out. And yes there is a scene where she pours tea and obviously nothing comes out of the pot and the cup is empty. But I only noticed those things because I was looking for them based on other reviews. Within 10 minutes I had forgotten the reviews and didn't notice any other "little" thing, because the story was captivating and fun. A great coming of age story. Just like Harry Potter has to chose to use his magic for good or evil or like Edward Cullen's has to struggle against his vampire instincts, the main character struggles between good and evil and who she really is and what good and evil mean. It's a beautiful story full of love, and awesome fantasy. A must see for any fantasy freak such as myself!

When I first started watching the first season of Dr. Who starring Christopher Eccleston, I enjoyed it! It was fun and exciting and ingenious. However, the latest season is too dark and gloomy for my liking.

The Bells of St. John - Dr. Who displays 'righteous anger' many times whereas the villan seems to be more cool and composed! What happened to the fun loving Doctor?

The Rings of Akhaten - Again, the segment where the Doctor confronts the 'solar parasite' is too emotionally charged with anger. I felt it was more like watching Shakespeare than Dr. Who.

Cold War - Ok, not so much anger in this episode, but it was quite tedious to watch the Doctor trying to talk the Ice Warrior out of destroying earth. Not that I am looking for more action, but the whole dialogue was not convincing enough.

Hide - Perhaps one of the better episodes in this series. The fun-loving Doctor is back, and he travels to meet his 'idol' Emma Grayling. He then uses his TARDIS to help a stranded time traveller. That's the Doctor I used to love!

The Crimson Horror - Even the Doctor needs help sometimes! I think this episode demonstrates this beautifully.

Nightmare in Silver - Predictable storyline that you can see it coming from a mile away (when the Doctor suggested a chess match the intention was so obvious any fan would have picked it up). I felt the ending was a bit rushed.

The Name of the Doctor - How many girls need to disrupt the history of time in order to save the Doctor? Didn't Rose do that once by painting "Bad Wolf" all over time? The ending was both more depressing than it needs to be.

Workaholics: Season Three

TelAmeriCorp's chief slackers Adam, Anders, and Blake clock in for another shift with Workaholics Season 3 on Blu-ray and DVD containing the latest 20 episodes from Comedy Central's hit series. This time; the boys get a surprise visit from home, help a coworker spy on a cheating spouse, and welcome their newest roommates, and Jesus, into their bachelor pad.

I'm reviewing the show not the blu-ray since, at the time of this writing, there's no release date yet.
I've watched every episode of this series multiple times. I own the first two seasons on blu-ray and usually keep newer episodes saved on my DVR until space gets low. This show ranks right up there with the likes of "It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia", "Community", and "The Office". Not that this show is necessarily the SAME as those series. I mean as far as how much it makes me literally laugh out loud. Obnoxiously out loud...with no apology for doing so!

Some people may consider the humor as being low brow and juvenile. That may be true, but the writing is smart, quick witted and just plain hilarious. The cast is perfect from the main characters to the supporting ones. Montez may well be my favorite "secondary" character on television. It might be easy to suggest that one must be on something to get this. Not true. I like getting weird with these guys no matter what I have or haven't indulged in.

If you've never seen this show do yourself and your funny bone a favor. Buy the first two seasons and enjoy. "Highly" recommended. (:

I was really excited to get this blu-ray along with the blu-ray of the first season and while I'm happy to get both seasons in blu-ray quality, the extras are sorely disappointing.

One plus about purchasing a DVD or blu-ray is getting to view extras and for a show like Adventure Time, I was really looking forward to getting more insight into the show from the creators themselves. There were only two extras available: Some interviews with the staff and commentary tracks.

The interviews are basically a waste of time. Pen briefly interviews some of his staff and has them watch a funny/bizarre video on a computer screen. Unfortunately, we cannot see what they are actually watching, just the expressions of each person as they watch the seemingly hilarious video. This is such a huge tease. Why did they even put this on here?

As for the commentaries, I was at first happy to see that they had commentary tracks for every episode, but after going through a few episodes, I am just left frustrated. It seems like every now and then a part is cut out and replaced with ukulele music because people either ramble on or what was said was too "juicy" for a children's television show. My heart was broken to hear a lead in into some sort of interesting tidbit behind a character or scene only to hear it abruptly cut into ukulele music and cut back out to uproarious laughter. I sort of understand this, but is it really so salacious that it couldn't be included or perhaps couldn't they have put some sort of warning for parents? What's great about this show is that it tiptoes around what appears to be adult content in a way that appeals to all ages and this seems like a slap in the face to its adult fans. In any case, since when do children actually listen to commentary?!

Outside of this, the actual content, the episodes themselves, are still great and I'm happy to have this blu-ray. That's why I gave it three stars. However, I do have the feeling that I have somehow been cheated as a fan of this show. I hope that they correct this in future releases. I would rather have no extras then to be teased like this.

Halle Berry and Abigail Breslin were really good in my opinion. These roles fit them well. This movie was full of suspense and tension. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time. The people who are giving the bad reviews are way to critical over this film that was just meant to be a good thrill ride. I'm pretty sure the director didn't intend for this to become an oscar nominee so don't critique it like it is Argo or something. It doesn't deserve the criticism. I was thoroughly scared which was a pleasant surprise. The bad guy was awesome and creepy as hell. Everything about this movie was pretty good EXCEPT the ending. SPOILER: I really don't think they needed to end it with abigail and Halle getting revenge on the bad guy. I and many others probably would have loved the ending they led up to which was them going to a movie together that weekend like Halle promised her in the trunk of the car. I wanted to feel good at the end of the movie, not worse. HOPEFULLY they release an alternate ending of sorts. I would love to see it. I would buy the blu-ray just to watch the movie with the alternate ending.
