Duck Dynasty: Season 3 (2013)

America's favorite family is back with a whole new season--Duck Dynasty: Season 3 is available on DVD!
The Robertsons have quickly become America’s favorite backwoods family. This close-knit clan has made a fortune selling duck calls, turning their backyard business into a multimillion-dollar sporting empire. But for Willie Robertson, the company’s CEO, running a family operation can be tough when all your employees live one distraction at a time and find any excuse to leave the warehouse.

Of course, in this DUCK DYNASTY?, these challenges and even the most ordinary affairs are met with a special Robertson twist of down-home practicality, wit and humor. They may be living the rags-to-riches American dream, but they always stay true to their rugged, modest, outdoor lifestyle and their deep Southern roots. Day-to-day life in the bayou may be mundane for some, but for the Robertsons, every day brings a new adventure.

I love Duck Dynasty. I love it so much I even went out and bought a little duck call to hang on my rearview mirror so the second thing people passing my giant pick up truck on the highway will know is that I enjoy this show very much (the first thing they will know is that my truck is a boy, since I also bought one of those big plastic scrotums you hang off your trailer hitch).

That said, while the first two seasons were absolutely some of the best television ever made (easily right up there with any episode of Here Comes Honey Boo Boo or that one Mythbusters where they drop an icicle through a CPR dummy filled with hamburger), season 3 lost me a little. I don't know what happened, exactly, but something was off.

I did love the Hawaii episode, that was probably the best one. I can't believe Willie lost his luggage! What irony, given that it was his idea for the vacation anyway! All the more ironic given that no one else in that whole entire airport even HAD any luggage. I mean, why else would the Robertsons be the only ones waiting at the baggage claim? I'm sure the total lack of people at the baggage claim was a nice bit of luck for the camera crew, though, since they had time to set up like 6 or 7 different cameras before the family even got there. My friends tell me this show is staged, but they're a bunch of idiots. Its called REALITY television, of course its all real! C'mon guys, have some faith! Sheesh!

So the Hawaii episode was great, but the rest wasn't as strong. There was nothing as great as that time in Season 1 where Willie accidentally strikes oil while out hunting so he and the family move out to a mansion in Beverly Hills, or that other time in Season 2 where Bugs Bunny starts playing a violin and singi
