Game of Thrones: The Complete Third Season

In the third season of the hit HBO? drama series Game of Thrones, the Lannisters are barely holding onto power after a savage naval onslaught from Stannis Baratheon, while stirrings in the North threaten to alter the overall balance of power in Westeros. Robb Stark, King in the North, is facing major calamity in his efforts to build on his victories over the Lannisters while beyond the Wall, Mance Rayder (played by Ciarian Hinds) and his huge army of wildlings continue their inexorable march south. Across the Narrow Sea, Daenerys Targaryen - reunited with her three fast-maturing dragons - attempts to raise an army to sail with her from Essos, in hopes of eventually claiming the Iron Throne.

If this package is anything like the previous second and now re-released first complete seasons, it will be worth the price completely. I assuming this because it's been proven twice by now and also among other HBO releases. Therefore, what I expect or hope will be the return of the

5 blu-ray discs containing the ten episode season in 1080p picture and wonderful HD surround sound (with the fifth containing interesting special features, like season two's the animated history of Westeros),
two dual layer season DVD with all ten episode set,
and a digital season copy code where you can choose either redeem it with Amazon, UltraViolet, iTunes, or other instant streaming website.

My suggestion for anybody purchasing this through Amazon.com, please redeem at least one of you digital HD copies through Amazon.com. Not only is it more friendly than the likes of UV or iTunes, but YOU ACTUALLY GET TO DOWNLOAD A DIGITAL VERSION WHILE YOU HAVE A STREAMED COPY THAT IS PLAYABLE IN OTHER VIDEO PLAYBACK FORMATS. Sorry for the caps usage there, but there is no way to stress how more superior Amazon video is compared to the likes of iTunes's idiotic DRM usage where you have to only use a device that can use iTunes. Sorry, Apple, but if I own a "digital copy," I better fully own a digital copy of a TV season or movie. This is best way to own Game of Thrones!

Also, I would like to note that in the past, The price listed now will not be the actual price for this season set. I have purchased both seasons through Amazon.com for a discounted price knocking at least $20.00 off the original price (and yes for the Blu-ray/DVD/Digital set). If any of you are interested, please pre-order this either now and get it discounted, or wait till the season is fully announced on the website and pre-purchase it at a discounted price.

HBO has finished airing all ten episodes of this season and I'm sure that the show is renewed for at least 2 more. Especially since the source material for this season is literally half of the Storm of Swords novel, there is much to cover yet. And wow! Just wow at the final two episodes of the season. The production company for this series is not afraid at all to show off what George Martin has in store for his characters. Major surprises and changes will occur that will surprise the unknowing viewer and also the devout A Song of Ice and Fire fan (also known as the, "they actually showed that!?" synopsis). Nit picky fans will point out what was changed be it dialogue or missing characters, but so far they seem minor but still entertaining to say the least. So far, Game of Thrones is still the best from book source to Live action TV fantasy series you will find.
